Export buyer guides for EU-made private label supplements
Country guides for brands planning to sell EU-made food supplements in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, South America and Canada: who registers the product, which documents come from the factory and how long the regulator takes, from 10 working days for a permit in Uzbekistan and 13 for an SGR in Kazakhstan to 60 calendar days for a Class I product licence in Canada.
Overview
What the country guides cover and what an export buyer receives
These pages are buyer guides for Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, nine South American countries and Canada: who registers a food supplement, which document the regulator issues and what the factory supplies. Pharma Manufacture makes private label supplements in Mārupe, Latvia, EU from 150 units, with a Certificate of Analysis for every batch and copies of its GMP, HACCP and ISO 22000 certificates.
Each country has its own regulator, its own document and its own label language, and the application is filed on the local side: by an importer, a registration holder or, in Canada, the licence applicant with a representative in Canada. The table below names the document for each country we have described and links to the page with the details, sources and dates.
First shipment
Steps to your first shipment in any market
The order of work is the same in every country we describe; the regulator, the document and the review time change.
- Local applicantYou choose the importer, registration holder or, in Canada, the licence applicant that files in the country of sale.
- Factory documentsPharma Manufacture sends the Certificate of Analysis, certificate copies, ingredient list and label artwork for the file.
- Registration or permitThe applicant files: 13 working days for an SGR in Kazakhstan, 10 for a permit in Uzbekistan, 60 or 90 calendar days for a Class I or II product licence in Canada.
- Production: from 4 weeksPharma Manufacture makes the batch from 4 weeks, about 8 weeks for a typical run from confirmed order and brief to despatch.
- ShipmentYour forwarder quotes the route, and your importer clears customs in the country of sale.
What you pay. The regulator’s fee differs by country; the other costs work the same way everywhere.
| Market | Regulator’s fee | Also paid on the local side |
|---|---|---|
| Kazakhstan | SGR free of charge | Any laboratory tests the applicant orders |
| Uzbekistan | 1 BRV for the review and 2 BRV for issuing the permit | Laboratory conclusions in Uzbekistan |
| Canada | Health Canada said on 24 November 2025 that licence fees would not start on 1 December 2025 | Customs duty by tariff line; the CETA rate applies only to goods that meet the CETA rules of origin |
| South America | Set by each country, for example $904.34 in Ecuador and 20 UR in Uruguay | See the country page |
In every market your customs broker confirms duty and VAT, and your forwarder quotes transport. The Pharma Manufacture quote gives the price per unit for your formula, form, pack and volume; a custom formula adds development and a validation batch, paid once, and label design help is part of the service.
If your importer, its customs broker or the regulator asks for Latvian export documents, these are issued in Latvia; fees as listed on 30 October 2026:
| Document | Issued by | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Certificate of non-preferential origin | Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LTRK), usually on the day of application | EUR 30.00 excluding VAT; EUR 21.30 for LTRK members |
| Free Sales certificate, in Latvian and English | LTRK, on a written application | EUR 100 + VAT; EUR 50 + VAT for LTRK members |
| Apostille on a Latvian public document | Any sworn notary in Latvia, issued electronically | EUR 30, or EUR 50 within two hours |
For a country outside the Hague Apostille Convention, a Latvian document is first legalised by the Consular Department of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then by the authority of the destination country. The public register of food supplements kept by the Latvian Food and Veterinary Service (PVD) lists products registered for the Latvian market.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about export markets
Which markets does Pharma Manufacture work with?
Pharma Manufacture works with brands in Europe, North America (the United States, Canada and Mexico), the Gulf states and Asia, including China, and with partners in Iraq, Armenia and Ethiopia. The country guides here set out the import rules for a brand planning to sell in each country. Client brands are kept confidential.
Who registers the product in my country?
Your importer, local registration holder or licence applicant files the application and holds the document. Pharma Manufacture manufactures the product and supplies the manufacturer’s documents the application needs.
Which documents come with an export order?
Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis. Copies of GMP-FS-01, HACCP-01 and ISO 22000:2018 MSC-22-1384, the ingredient list and the label artwork are supplied for the registration file; your importer tells us what else its regulator asks for.
Are the minimum order and lead time different for export?
No. A ready-made formula in tablets or capsules starts from 150 units and 4 weeks for every market, with about 8 weeks for a typical run. In Kazakhstan the certificate is needed before sale, in Uzbekistan the permit before import and in Canada the product licence before sale; each country page gives the timing.
