How much does it cost to start a private label supplement brand?

The cost of starting a supplement brand depends on four things: the formula, the form, the packaging and the volume. Pharma Manufacture prices every launch against them. How much does it cost to make a supplement? Costs paid once

Everything that creates the product rather than repeats it. Developing a custom formula, sourcing its actives and validating it is one piece of work. So is new tooling: press punches for a tablet and dosing discs for a capsule are cut for specific dimensions, and a size nobody has run before needs new tooling and a validation run first.

A ready-made formula in an existing tablet or capsule size avoids both. Tablets are pressed in eight round and oval sizes and hard capsules filled in sizes #1, #0 and #00, so many doses fit equipment that is already set up. That is why the first order of a catalogue formula starts lower than a custom one.

What is paid again with every production run?

The run itself. Setup, cleaning, changeover and quality checks cost roughly the same whether the batch is small or large, so the price per unit falls as the order grows. Packaging materials are bought for each run, and some of them come in print runs of their own: the laminate roll for sachets, the tube, cap and label for effervescent tablets. A custom print or a non-standard jar colour adds a minimum of its own, unrelated to the product inside.

For sachets, the formula drives the price first and the laminate paper second: a thicker paper costs more.

Is there a supplement price list I can see?

Prices are sent on request. The product list itself can be shared without prices, and a price list is priced against a formula and a form already in production, which is why it comes back fast.
